When fate's hands threaten to pull you apart, to break you down, to take him away, you have to remember the first moments. You have to go back to the very beginning. The first time you saw him, first time he touched you, first time you heard his voice, first time he laughed at your stupid jokes, the first time he smiled with you. You have to remember the way he smelled, the feel of his breath, the words that he said. You have to remember the first moment you felt it building inside you. The first time you noticed you forgot to breathe when he was around. You have to remember these things, because you are unsure when you will see him again. You are unsure where life will direct you, where the twisting roads will lead, where you will be placed on this path you have chosen. You have to let these memories, the first moments wash over you, until you can remember every detail of every second you spent with him. You remember the way it felt. You remember the love. You let it build.
